The International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (Fédération Internationale de Gynécologie et d'Obstétrique - FIGO) was established in Geneva in 1954 by Professor Hubert de Watteville, the ‘founding father’ of FIGO. It is a unique organisation, the only global organisation representing national societies of obstetricians and gynecologists. Currently, FIGO has Member Societies in 130 countries or territories. Its Secretariat is based in London, the United Kingdom.

Instituto de Medicina Tropical Alexander von Humboldt

The Instituto de Medicina Tropical Alexander von Humboldt is a specialist institute for Tropical Medicine. It receives referrals from the whole of Peru, and is part of Hospital Nacional Cayetano Heredia, which is the teaching hospital for Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. It is among the top research institutions in tropical medicine in Latin America, with ongoing investigations in tuberculosis, leishmaniasis, malaria and HIV, both in its site in Lima and in several field sites such as Iquitos, Cuzco and La Merced.

Institute of Family Medicine (INFA-MED)

INFA-MED is Christian-based institution registered in Kenya as a Trust, which began in 1995 at a meeting of representatives of several CHAK-affiliated Church Hospitals from rural Kenya, who had the vision of beginning a post-graduate training program for Family Medicine Practitioners. In Kenya and as in most of Africa, the emphasis has been on subspecialty training and care while primary care has often been ignored. Quality health care is inaccessible for much of the population of Africa.

Institute of Child Health, Benin University

The Institute of Child Health (ICH) is a centre for child health research, training and provision of child health services. It came into existence in 1972 as the fourth unit (after the faculties of sciences, engineering and medicine and pharmacy) in the then Institute of Technology now University of Benin. Currently it is one of the components of the College of Medical Sciences; the others being the School of Medicine, School of Dentistry and the School of Basic Medical Sciences.
