WHO Africa Region: Strengthening the use of evidence, information and research for policy-making (4)

22 October, 2024

Good day

Thanks to Neil and Richard for sharing the progress report. [ https://www.hifa.org/dgroups-rss/who-africa-region-strengthening-use-evi... ]

The focus on knowledge translation platforms brings to light the work of the SUPPORT-SYSTEMS consortium, which includes HIFA, KEMRI Wellcome Trust, the University of Ghana, and three Norwegian institutions (see more: https://www.fhi.no/prosjekter/support-systems/). One area we are exploring is how health policymaking processes can better use evidence from civil society, aligning with the broader conceptualization of evidence that WHO, among others, have promoted: https://www.who.int/publications/i/item/9789240039872

Our systematic review protocol is published here: https://www.cochranelibrary.com/cdsr/doi/10.1002/14651858.CD015810/full

We anticipate the full review to come out next year and we expect to launch a HIFA discussion to deliberate its implications for policy and practice.

Please do reach out if you have questions about the review.

Best wishes

Unni
