We're delighted to inform you that this year's THET Annual Conference, “Accelerating action on Universal Health Coverage: the role of Health Partnerships”, will be held virtually on 31 October and 1 November 2023.
For more information and to register for the conference please visit our website here <https://buff.ly/3PbDpiM> or type https://buff.ly/3PbDpiM into your browser.
This year’s THET Conference at the end of October follows the UN General Assembly marking the midpoint of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as three High Level Meetings (HLM): on Universal Health Coverage (UHC), Pandemic Preparedness and TB.
With a backdrop of the intersecting crises of climate crisis, conflict, and the devasting legacy of the COVID pandemic, limited progress on universal health coverage, and regression on some health SDGs, these meetings aim to reinvigorate progress on access to health for all.
The first day of this year’s THET Conference will allow participants to explore the global health context with a lens accounting for these multiple crises, and space for reflection on outcomes from the UNGA and High Level meetings. Perspectives will be shared on the action needed to provide an enabling environment to strengthen health systems, tackle health workforce shortages, and seemingly limitless expectations placed on health workers in post.
The second day will move on to strike a series of positive notes with a programmatic focus, highlighting how specific Health Partnerships and innovations in health are working to accelerate progress towards universal health coverage, including tackling health inequities across and within countries.
CPD accreditation will be available for the conference.
I encourage everyone to register for what is shaping up to be an excellent THET Conference! For any queries, please direct your email to comms@thet.org<mailto:comms@thet.org>.
Many thanks and best wishes,
Jonathon
