REQUEST FOR PARTNERSHIP : A HOSPITAL PROJECT IN RURAL GHANA
My name is Mr. Bakinam Adamu, the Chief Executive Officer of the Organization for Research and Community Development Ghana (ORCD Ghana) which is a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit, and independent organization working in vulnerable areas in Ghana. I am also the National Chairperson for Nurse Educators Group in Ghana. The aim of the ORCD Ghana is to contribute to the development of local and global settings as an integral part of the international community. It envisages accomplishing its aims by building local capacities, generating evidence in various disciplines, promoting evidence-based best practices, and implementing developmental projects aimed at community development at the grass root level.
ORCD Ghana considers a multi-sectoral approach to community development and hence ensures its services are offered through an extended range of sectors spanning from health, education to agriculture. It also tries to ensure that women empowerment, as a key cross-cutting issue, at the center of community development. As a grassroots NGO, we have acquired 15 acres of land for creating a hospital for the rural community with a total population of about 70,807 at Ejura Sekyedumasi in Ghana. The site of the land is located on the main highway that is very accessible to the surrounding population. Ghana is one of the countries in West Africa with poor health coverage and high maternal and child mortality rates especially in its rural areas. This intervention will save a lot of women and children’s lives in these areas. I am ready to share the details of the project with you through Zoom.
