Community Health Workers’ digital information Hub

18 May, 2019

Dear all,

Greetings from Avert. We wanted to send a quick update on our progress with the Community Health Workers’ (CHW) HIV Hub (https://www.avert.org/what-we-do/partners-projects/community-healthworke...)- a project aiming to provide CHWs and their clients accessible and engaging HIV and sexual health content through their mobile phones.

We’ve been busy pulling together what we’ve learned from a series of focus group discussions and meetings held in Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe between February and April, and are really pleased to share with you a summary document which we hope you’ll find interesting. Please do send me any comments or further input based on what is in the document, which you can read here- https://www.avert.org/sites/default/files/CHW%20Hub%20-%20scoping%20summ...

Based on our learning from the scoping phase of the project we have also been updating the overall project design and how we will implement and evaluate it. We have already started engaging with our user panel of over 100 community health workers drawn from the range of organisations that supported our scoping in the three countries. The Whatsapp groups for these user panels have been buzzing!

We’d love to hear from anyone interested in being more involved in the project, who thinks that the hub could be useful for them and community healthworkers they work with.

Best wishes

Fran, Simon and the Avert team
