James Elliott has a background as special needs teacher who specialised in English language development - spoken and written - and science education, while integrating broader knowledge from diverse disciplines. "Simultaneously, I grew a practice as a primary healthcare practitioner focused on musculoskeletal health. Following a CELTA qualification, my fascination with language and communication led me into content writing, editing and mentoring for the health communications and INGO spheres. I have worked, largely remotely, researching, writing, editing and proofreading for international non-profit organisations, such as Population Services International, World Vision and ACDI VOCA. I work in close collaboration with speakers of Southeast Asian languages. These latter experiences share the common themes of communication, science, health, and work bringing evidence-based health information and care to citizens."
