Diana Gittens

Diana Gittens is a cervical cancer survivor, trainer and health advocate from Guyana with extensive experience in cervical cancer prevention, noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and people-centred health advocacy.

 

Her advocacy is strongly informed by her lived experience of cervical cancer and has included extensive work at the national and regional levels. She is passionate about amplifying the voices of people with lived experience and ensuring their perspectives meaningfully inform health policies, programmes and services.

 

Diana is a member of the Healthy Caribbean Coalition’s People Living with NCDs (PLWNCDs) Advisory Group and Cancer Research UK’s International Cancer Prevention Advisory Group. She previously served on the NCD Alliance’s Our Views, Our Voices Global Advisory Committee and has contributed to regional and global initiatives aimed at strengthening the meaningful involvement of people living with NCDs.

 

Her work reflects a strong commitment to improving access to accurate health information, strengthening health literacy, and ensuring that communities—particularly people directly affected by NCDs—are active participants in shaping the responses intended to serve them.
