Joanna Briggs Institute

The Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) is the international not-for-profit, research and development centre within the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Adelaide, South Australia. The Institute collaborates internationally with over 70 entities across the world. The Institute and its collaborating entities promote and support the synthesis, transfer and utilization of evidence through identifying feasible, appropriate, meaningful and effective healthcare practices to assist in the improvement of healthcare outcomes globally.

International Foundation for Dermatology

The International Foundation for Dermatology (IFD) was created in 1987 as an arm of the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS). The IFD is a non-profit organisation whose principal mission is to improve dermatology care in underserved areas of the developing world. The IFD is an integral arm of the ILDS representing more than 25,000 members from over 60 nations. The ILDS is recognised by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a non-governmental organisation for official relations with the dermatological communities.

The hospital was founded in 1908, by Scottish missionaries, in memory of David Livingstone who died nearby.
