HIFA was delighted to present at the UK-East African Healthcare Summit, 22 April 2017, British Medical Association, London.

The summit brought together large delegations of government officials, diaspora members, policymakers, education, research and development institutions, senior hospital directors & CEOs. Dignitaries included the Honorable Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, Minister of Health for Uganda and many others from the region.

Library and Information Services

Libraries and information services have a critical role to increase the availability and use of healthcare information. Researchers, policymakers, health professionals, and citizens all need access to actionable information, relevant to their context, and in a language they can understand, to protect their own health and the health of others.

HIFA in collaboration with Your Health Matters Ghana (YHMG) created an awareness day in Ghana on the 10th of March, 2017 at the Aviation Social Centre in Accra, Ghana. 

The event was well patronized by stakeholders in the health sector including medical doctors, nurses, health professionals, administrators, corporate organizations, medical and nursing students as well as a significant number of the general public. 

There were lectures on diabetes, hypertension, prostate education and general healthcare information delivery.
