HIFA-Portuguese was officially launched on November 19, 2009 in Maputo, Mozambique when the first 350 members received the first message sent directly from the launch event (see photo).

Life for African Mothers

Life for African Mothers is a unique charity working to address the tragedy and injustice to women who die every year in pregnancy and childbirth. 303,000 women die every year from complications in child-birth which occur mainly in Sub-Saharan Africa. 99% of all these deaths are avoidable with the right medical care and resources.

LVCT Health

'LVCT Health is a Kenyan non-governmental and not-for-profit organization registered in 2001 after a research project that pioneered the first three HIV voluntary counselling and testing centres in Kenya. We aim to drastically reduce new HIV infections: increase equitable access to quality health services through innovative, integrated, comprehensive and high impact services and programs that can be delivered at scale. Our work is anchored in a Research-Policy-Practice framework (Hatua model) through which we implement evidence informed programs.

HIFA Country Representative of the Year 2018 Jackeline Alger receives the prestigious recognition of Honduras Physician of the Year 2019

HIFA congratulates Jackeline Alger as she receives the award of Honduras Physician of the Year 2019.

In a message to HIFA and other supporters she writes:

"The joy associated with the appointment as Physician of the Year 2019 has been crowned by the numerous expressions of affection that have in various ways been sent to me by colleagues, family and friends. I have received messages from teachers, fellow students, current students and those who are already career professionals, co-workers, co-workers from international groups. Thank you so much to each and every one!"

Emergency Care Trainers

'Emergency Care Trainers was founded and established to provide emergency health education and training to all healthcare providers and the general public. We provide a platform through which participants acquire the necessary skills required to save lives. Our emergency short courses aim at providing science-based treatment that are within the international guidelines. We have trained over 3,000 healthcare professionals in various emergency care short courses.
