World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) 18-24 November 2022

3 August, 2022

Hi there,

The Quadripartite organizations - the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH, founded as OIE) recently announced the theme of WAAW 2022: ‘Preventing antimicrobial resistance together.’

This year’s theme calls for collaboration across sectors to preserve the efficacy of antimicrobials. To effectively mitigate AMR, all sectors and stakeholders must join forces.

We invite you and your organization to actively participate in WAAW 2022 which will be celebrated from 18 to 24 November. We can organize a virtual meeting to brief your organization on WHO’s WAAW 2022 campaign plan and to learn from you about possible events for WAAW that you could organize. There may be opportunities for collaboration on events which we could explore. Please let me know when we may arrange a brief TEAMS or ZOOM call with you.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,
