WHO: Hooking the next generation: how the tobacco industry captures young customers (5) NextGenU.org and HIFA

26 May, 2024

Dear HIFA colleagues,

31st May is World No Tobacco Day and the theme this year is 'Protecting children from tobacco interference'

The tobacco industry targets youth to replace the millions of customers who die or quit tobacco use each year.

NextGenU.org (a HIFA supporting organisation) and HIFA have been working since 2023 to protect children (and adults) from tobacco misinformation. We invite further discussion here on HIFA, and on our global child health forum CHIFA (www.chifa.org).

Our thanks to Ben Nicholls and the HIFA social media team for their help with this. Please retweet: https://twitter.com/hifa_org/status/1792881496232956002
