What do you authors think about a partial boycott of health sciences book publishers if they don't make digital versions available for free? (4)

Hi,

Just want to raise another point, as well, in defence of my comments below. [ https://www.hifa.org/dgroups-rss/what-do-you-authors-think-about-partial... ]

I am a professional actor and creative, (with specific experience in arts and health) and as I have a career sustained over decades, I know some quite well known people in the arts sector - and in sci-tech and medecine, as well.

So far, the only fraudsters I know I have been approached by, on a professional level, have been claiming to be fellow workers in the creative industries. For me, a huge red flag goes up, the moment some alleged 'celebrity', who I've met or worked with in the past, invites me to engage in a 'private' conversation, via 'Telegram'. I report them to whatever platform is hosting, advise them to contact my agent of they wish to communicate with me - and report the fake profile to the legitimate agent of the faux celebrity - and my unions. Equity and Musicians Union.

This experience leads me to believe, that similar fraudsters will undoubtedly be operating, in the medical, scientific and technology sectors.

We need to know exactly WHO we all are, and WHAT we have said, consensually, in any public media, in order to defend ourselves from gross misrepresentation - and I would say this is of CRUCIAL importance in the context of medical publishing, to protect against dangerous and inaccurate health advice, being issued in our name.

So let's ensure that we know the source, and guarantee it's legitimacy. I am who I say I am. And I say this.

That's important.

Best Wishes,

Fiona Branson
