Surveillance strengthening activities in Mozambique: New learning from Malaria Consortium

14 October, 2022

Dear all,

I am pleased to share new learning from Malaria Consortium’s project Strengthening Malaria Surveillance for Data-driven Decision-making in Mozambique (2019-2022). Now in its final year, this project has focused on improving data quality and increasing the use of data for strategic and operational decision-making in the country.

* https://www.malariaconsortium.org/resources/publications/1626/sustaining... looks at lessons from year three, which focused on streamlining data quality assurance activities, promoting the use of integrated malaria information storage system (iMISS) dashboards for decision-making and reviewing the outbreak investigation and response procedures.

* Our insight brief https://www.malariaconsortium.org/resources/publications/1625/implementi... explores the feasibility of including reactive surveillance activities in malaria programming in two areas of low malaria transmission and incidence in Maputo province.

Please do have a read.

If you would like to find out more about the project, you can explore our lessons from year one

https://www.malariaconsortium.org/resources/publications/1434/facilitati...

where we successfully rolled out the iMISS, and year two

https://www.malariaconsortium.org/resources/publications/1599/developing...

in which we intensified efforts to improve data quality and develop a data-to-action culture.

If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!

Best,

Sam
