Supporting child health in conflicts (2)

18 February, 2024

Chia Benard Ful writes strongly about the need for a global network to support children's health in armed conflict. This is indeed needed and your description of the impact of conflict on children in Cameroon is very moving.

This conflict is little known (to me at any rate) and a short description of the background would be helpful, with any links that are available.

I would recommend Chia that you join ISSOP - the International Society for Social Pediatrics and Child health https://issop.org/membership/ - if you are not already a member.

ISSOP has a special interest in combating the effects of conflict on children and wrote a briefing<https://issop.org/cmdownloads/issop-issue-brief-prevention-mitigating-ha... in 2022. Means of tackling conflicts are also discussed in the ISSOP e-bulletins which can be found on the above website. Working together with other activists around the world gives us the best chance of preventing such atrocities from taking place into the future.
