Dear Anna

The MDG evaluation has showed failure to achieve some MDG goals and discrepancy in achieving the targets was because of lack of intersectoral collaboration, poor coordination and integration with in development activities in different sectors. This is clearly visible in program/project design, implementation and monitoring activities. The existing shortage of resources would mandate collaboration with in sectors to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.

Example; failure to meet maternal health goal is mainly due to gender inequity, lack of women empowerment, illiteracy , poor infrastructure , poor political commitment , weak leadership and accountability mechanism all requires strong collaboration and commitment

kind regards

Berhanu Tamiru
