The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), Global Health Research (GHR) team is seeking experienced Community Engagement and Involvement (CEI) Specialists to join the Funding Committee for the Global Health Research Development Awards. CEI Specialists play a vital role in ensuring that research is inclusive, equitable, and aligned with local priorities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the selection of high-quality applied health research projects that directly benefit communities in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
NIHR is committed to strengthening and embedding Community Engagement and Involvement (CEI) principles into global health research funding. We welcome applications from individuals with expertise in engaging and involving people and communities in global health research, particularly those with experience of engaging marginalised and vulnerable groups in decision making processes.
The role of CEI specialist, would be to summarise and provide written comments on health research funding applications based on their expertise and experience of Community Engagement and Involvement. They will also have the opportunity to suggest improvements to CEI plans in the applications, and present their views at funding committee meetings.
