It is a very important topic "micronutrient supplementation in TB".
Unfortunately, Afghanistan was one of the 10 high-burden TB countries; but still TB is not completely prevented. The were more than 52000 new TB cases detected in 2022. According to a survey conducted on 2015 for TB, show 45% of TB-infected women were malnourished (Moderate and Severe Acute Malnutrition - MAM & SAM). For those MAM and SAM case, two different supplementation program was implemented. The MAM cases received Super Cerials supplementation distributed by World Food Programme in Afghanistan.
