mHealth-Innovate (70) Idea for a Topic 6: Using the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (2) Hodges' Model

15 May, 2025

Hello Brendon,

You may find Hodges' model useful as an additional resource to connect, integrate and critique aspects of ideas in practice, theory and management?

The model's four (care, knowledge, conceptual) domains can in turn be associated with the following:

SCIENCES: complexity - emergence, my skills, dexterity, physical causes, PROCESSES, location, data, information, work, energy, effort, time, sequence, logistics, technology, physical infrastructure, geography ...

INTERPERSONAL: Individual identity, perception, PURPOSES, knowledge, my assessment, intellect, attitudes, experience, person (patient, carer) expressed needs, literacy ...

SOCIOLOGY: Peers, friends, family, effect of 'group think', culture, media, social networks, work - occupation - status, social cohesion, custom (and) PRACTICES ...

POLITICAL: Organisations, Institutions, Industries, Professional identity, security, POLICY, funding, cost (specific dynamic of an economic sector)

Hodges' model can readily encompass systems perspectives and descriptions, especially seeking SOCIO-technical approaches to scoping, evaluation and critique of a project.

The papers above are listed on the blog below in a bibliography (please see sidebar), with a template.

Posts are tagged and so searchable, e.g.

implementation

The model is simple, yet powerful (potentially creating a rich conceptual picture) a broad - high-level tool that can complement other resources, to help with scope, scale and overview.

Kind regards
