mHEALTH-INNOVATE (53) Introduction: Elisabeth Tshiama Mukendi, DR Congo

30 April, 2022

Greetings New team

I am Elisabeth Tshiama Mukendi, a medical doctor from the Democratic Republic of Congo since 2019, currently studying a master program in International Public Health at Senghor University in Alexandria/Egypt

I have always been very sensitive to problems that are facing my community and I actively contributed in finding solutions. Since 2017 I joined the OPERATION SMILE team as medical record volunteer and we help people with lip and cleft palates through national and international missions; In 2018 I created ‘YOUTH FOR SALUBRITY’ to contribute to fight against insalubrity in Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo); While medical intern in a rural hospital of Vanga (Democratic Republic of Congo), I led actions to fight against children malnutrition.

As a medical doctor, I have worked in hospitals and insurance health company in Kinshasa. All this experience has given me skills in medical practice, medical risk management and medical data analysis; and increased my interest in public health.

And as one of my goals is to contribute to strengthening health systems in LICs, I am happy to join the HIFA family.

And Yes, I had sometimes to use my phone in my practice to share information about my patients; sometimes through medical whatsapp groups, or mails for advice and process. And most of the time it helped to resolve the problem.

Regards
