Dear HIFA colleagues,
Thank you to Venus (Zimbabwe), Denis (Uganda), Goran (UK/Iraq) and Joey (Philippines) for your responses to Question 1: "Do you use a mobile phone to help you in your work? How do you use it?" (All: If you missed these, you can review all messages here: https://www.hifa.org/rss-feeds/17 )
All the uses you describe (apart from voice calls and sms) require smartphones.
This raises the question: What proportion of the health workforce uses a smartphone? Are smartphones becoming ubiquitous, even among community health workers? Which health workers continue to rely on basic phones and how do they use them?
I look forward to your contributions, by email to: hifa@hifaforums.org
Many thanks, Neil
