South African Health Review 2024: Strengthening mental health care - official launch
29 October 2025 - Key findings and themes highlighted in the Strengthening mental health care edition of the South African Health Review were shared at the second SA Mental Health Conference in Johannesburg yesterday.
Speaking at the event, Editor-in-Chief, Ashnie Padarath emphasised that "mental health must be reframed from an "add-on" to a core component of health, wellbeing, and development." She stated that "evidence, innovations, and frameworks exist-but implementation, financing, equity, leadership, and community-centred action are now key."
