Chinonyerem (Nonye) Egekwu is a medical doctor, health systems, and healthcare quality improvement specialist with years of experience advancing quality of care, health financing, and health system strengthening in Nigeria. She partners with governments and healthcare institutions to design and scale evidence-based interventions that improve health outcomes.

She serves as the Senior Advisor, Quality and Learning for the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Comprehensive Emergency Maternal and Newborn Care (CEmONC) and Free Fistula Programmes (FFP) in Nigeria, leading quality initiatives across over 200 hospitals nationwide. She is also a Faculty Member of the Healthcare Leadership Academy (Africa) and serves on the World Health Organization (WHO) Technical Working Group on Global Standards for Quality Health Care Services for Older People.

Her expertise includes healthcare quality improvement, health financing, maternal and newborn health, implementation science, patient safety, clinical governance, and health systems strengthening. She supports governments to strengthen health systems through evidence-based decision-making while building the capacity of healthcare professionals and policymakers.
