Introduction To CHIFA colleagues
Hallo, My name is Anna Ishaku, a midwife by profession. I have more than 9 years working experience in the areas of Maternal, Newborn and child-Health care
Sexual Gender based violence (SGBV), HIV/AIDS and Nutrition in Nigeria.
I worked with Faith Alive Foundation as a volunteer midwife providing free services to HIV/ TB patients. I also worked with Medicins sans
frontiers (MSF) Doctors without Borders in Northern Nigeria. I was privileged to participate in Advanced support in Obstetrics emergencies
(ALSO) such as (direct causes of maternal mortality e.g. bleeding, infections, prolonged obstructed labour and complication of unsafe
abortions which are preventable). I also worked with International Rescue committee (IRC) supporting the ministry of health as well as
helping women of reproductive age, newborns in IDPs , rural and hard-to-reach areas.
Recently, I completed COVID-19 Emergency response with MSF. Furthermore, I have also worked with the World Food Program cooperating
partner in Nigeria Implementing Nutrition activities through Blanket Supplementary feeding program (BSFP) and Community management of acute
malnutrition (CMAM) in Yobe state Nigeria.
Now, I am working on a project to improve the quality of healthcare delivery in Hawul LGA, Borno state Nigeria through national based NGO: SHIKTRA
MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION- SMaNCH FOUNDATION*
SMaNCH FOUNDATION GOAL: Ending pandemic, maternal and newborn mortality and death of children under the age of 5 years is a global objective and
together we can save lives.
