Of course drivers are quite use to checking their carvtyrp pressures on car forecourts. There is no reason that public utilities can set up blood pressure taking points for the public to check their own blood pressure, as they do their own weight and steps walked.

It is a culture change from one of helpless passive "patient" to a self-helping active patient?

Culture change:

Basic Assumptions - Patients are part of the actors of care pathways

Values - The patients are valued as resources and partners and the only one present that every intervention that involves them

Norms - Change the norms of doctors and nurses being the only one allowed to have and to practice their knowledge and skills - patients can too if directed correctly and supported

Artefacts - give patients access to add to their clinical lifelong health records and public tools to take their own blood pressures to add to their records saving health professionals time and money...
