Health information by right: making the case for ensuring access to reliable information

Dear HIFA colleagues,

Health information by right: making the case for ensuring access to reliable information

https://www.ifla.org/news/health-information-by-right-making-the-case-fo...

In August 2021 I was part of a virtual 'provocation session' at the World Library and Information Congress. The session was led by the IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations) special interest group on Evidence for Global and Disaster Health, of which I am a member.

I am delighted to report that the video of the session (40 minutes) is now publicly available at the above URL, together with a commentary.

One of our aims is to encourage the library and information community to bring all stakeholders together (LIS, health professionals, publishers, policymakers...) to forge a path towards universal access to reliable healthcare information for all.

Meanwhile the HIFA Steering Group is preparing to meet on 3 February to plan the implementation of the HIFA Strategy 2022-2024: Accelerating progress towards universal access to reliable healthcare information. We welcome your comments and suggestions on the issues raised by the WLIC video and commentary, and on the HIFA Strategy itself. https://www.hifa.org/news/press-release-healthcare-information-all-hifa-...

Many thanks, Neil
