Happy Patient Solidarity Day 2024!
Patient Solidarity Day (PSD) takes place each December and this year we stand together to celebrate ‘The Power of Community’.
In 2024, we highlight the collective strength of the IAPO patient organisation community built over the last 25 years. This community is a testament to the influence and power of patients' organisations who, by coming together, have taken control of their journeys and played an instrumental role in ensuring that healthcare systems prioritise the needs and preferences of the patients and communities they serve.
The success of this community over the past 25 years reflects what is possible when people, communities and organisations join forces to support one another, advocate for change, and make their voices heard.
As we mark PSD 2024, we also proudly celebrate 25 years of IAPO championing patient-centred healthcare. From the very beginning, we have advocated for creating a world where patient organisations play an active role in health decision-making processes. Since 1999, we have confirmed that when the patient voice is heard, the quality of healthcare improves – not only for individuals but for entire communities and health systems.
