The journal, Journal of the Medical College for Women and Hospital, that I work for as Managing Editor does not charge APC and is funded by The Medical College for Women and Hospital. This encourages submissions and I believe this is a great service for the scientific community. Resesrchers should not have to face the massive APC charged by many publishers. If more organizations come forward to sponsoring, perhaps this could be modified.
