Yes we totally agree with the findings of the meta-analysis.

The definition of Early-Onset Neonatal Sepsis (EONS) & Late-Onset Neonatal Sepsis (LONS) differs and LONS unlike hospital acquired major proportion are community acquired. It is also important to note that majority of tertiary care facility in Nepal do not screen for GBS infections.

The most of the babies when they arrive with community acquired LONS they have already got antibiotics. Hence that is one of the reason culture positivity is low.

This is scenario in Nepal. Yes we really do have very few epidemiological community base studies for neonatal sepsis
