Council for Health Service Accreditation of Southern Africa

Council for Health Service Accreditation of Southern Africa (COHSASA) is the only internationally accredited quality improvement and accreditation body for healthcare facilities based in Africa. In the past 20 years over 600 facilities throughout the continent have entered the COHSASA programme to improve the quality and safety of the healthcare services provided to patients.

Breast Without Spot

Breast Without Spot (BWS) uses community-based education to build a cadre of ‘Breast Cancer Awareness’ Activists to create awareness about breast/cervical cancers to women groups and women one-on one. BWS also advocates to policy makers and diaspora organizations for the provision of medical services and skill transfer/research to assist tertiary and secondary health care providers to create sustainable cancer resources.

Dr Soumyadeep Bhaumik gave this Powerpoint presentation at the Cochrane Colloquium in Seoul, South Korea, 23-27 October 2016, on behalf of the Evidence-Informed Policy and Practice working group. The presentation highlights some of the key points emerging from the HIFA thematic discussion on Evidence-Informed Country-Level Health Policymaking.

From 19th September to 21 October 2016, the HIFA Project on Health Partnerships hosted a thematic discussion on health partnerships as defined and supported by THET: 'A health partnership is an on-going collaboration between health institutions in high income countries and those in low and middle income countries.' There was some discussion also on HIFA-French and HIFA-Zambia.
