WHO Together for Science and Health (8) Trust in science

6 November, 2026

Trust in science is in decline in some parts of the world. It is somehow related to the emergence and popularity of right wing governments, especially in countries which had a sizable science -supporting champions and institutions.

India is a case in point. One has to only pay attention to the kind of 'truths' propogated during covid.

The anti vaccine movement in developed countries such as France and USA shows how tenuous the link is between education or the state of development of an advanced country and its espousal of science.
