Dear HIFA colleagues,
I'm Arun Verma, one of the founders of Triangle Health in the United States. Thank you, Neil, for the warm welcome.
My work is about one practical problem: patients and the clinicians who see them often can't get a person's own records in one place. Notes, labs, imaging reports and test results sit in different systems, so people facing serious illness, cancer especially, end up making decisions with half the picture. I'm interested in how people find, understand and carry their own health information, and in how that changes when AI tools are the ones reading it.
I joined HIFA to learn from people working on access to reliable health information around the world, especially in low- and middle-income settings where the gaps are largest. A few questions I'd love to hear members' experience on:
- What actually helps patients understand their own test results and records?
- Where have you seen AI tools help or harm people's access to trustworthy health information?
- What makes health information easy to use for caregivers and families, not only clinicians?
I look forward to reading and joining the discussions.
Best,
Arun
