*Cervical cancer (13) Introduction: Claire Kimilu, Kenya - WHO Cervical Cancer Elimination Initiative

19 October, 2026

Hello everyone,

My name is Claire Kimilu, and I currently support the World Health Organization's Cervical Cancer Elimination Initiative.

Through my work, I have had the privilege of meeting and learning from advocates, colleagues and partners across different countries, including those working to expand access to cervical cancer screening and treatment services. One thing these experiences have continually reminded me of is just how much we can learn from the people and communities closest to the challenges we are trying to address.

One of my interests in global health is how we can better bridge global policies and priorities with the realities of people's everyday lives. I think a big part of that starts with listening, being curious and recognizing just how much we can learn from one another.

I'm really looking forward to hearing the different perspectives and experiences shared through this discussion, particularly around what helps women access reliable information, screening and treatment, and what challenges may stand in their way. Whether you have personal experiences to share, work in this area, or are simply interested in learning more, I hope you'll feel encouraged to join the conversation.

Looking forward to learning from you all!

Claire
