Dear HIFA colleagues,
Turning to Question 6: What information resources are available for training (in cataract surgery)?
We have learned that simulation-based training is highly effective and increasingly used by organisations like HelpMeSee.
Can HIFA members describe other aspects of training for ophthalmologists and non-physician cataract surgeons? To what extent are written materials needed vis a vis skills training in the operating theatre?
Resources may include:
International curricula and training guidelines
International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) residency curricula and competency frameworks.
Textbooks
Surgical manuals
Surgical videos
Journals
Which resources have you found most useful?
Best wishes, Neil
