Dear HIFA colleagues,
Warm greetings to everyone.
I am delighted to join the HIFA community and look forward to learning from and contributing to this global network working towards a world where every person has access to reliable, relevant and actionable healthcare information.
I am a global health professional with over a decade of multidisciplinary experience spanning clinical medicine, international public health and global health diplomacy. My work has included technical and policy roles with WHO Headquarters in Geneva, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, and academic institutions including Charité–Universitätsmedizin Berlin.
Across these roles, I have worked at the intersection of health systems, maternal and newborn health, health emergencies, research and development, evidence-informed policy, and capacity strengthening across diverse country contexts. Much of my work has reinforced a simple lesson: access to the right health information, at the right time and in a form that people and health workers can understand and use, is itself a critical component of health equity.
This is one of the reasons I am particularly drawn to HIFA's mission. I am keen to contribute to discussions around health information access, misinformation and evidence-informed decision-making, particularly in low- and middle-income country settings.
I look forward to meeting fellow HIFA members, exchanging experiences and exploring opportunities to contribute to this important collective effort.
Warm regards,
Dr Archana Seahwag
