I am delighted to join this esteemed global community.
My name is Mostafa SHAKSHAK, and I am a global public health and humanitarian emergency response professional.
Currently, I serve as the Migration Health Officer with the UN Migration Agency (IOM) in Bangui, Central African Republic, where I manage migration health operations and emergency responses.
My field experience spans across the Middle East and Africa, focusing on emergency coordination, health cluster management, and health system strengthening in complex environments. Previously, I had the privilege of working with WHO as a Field Coordination Specialist during the crisis in Sudan, as well as holding public health and human-centered design roles with IOM in Djibouti and UNICEF in Egypt.
My professional and academic interests are deeply aligned with HIFA's mission to promote reliable healthcare information.
I recently completed my Master's in Global Public Health, with my research focusing on access to care for Non-Communicable Diseases (specifically Chronic Kidney Disease) in conflict-affected regions of Sudan. Working on the ground in these low-resource settings has shown me firsthand how critical robust health data systems and access to reliable information are for patient safety and saving lives.
I look forward to learning from all of you, sharing insights from the field, and exploring ways we can collaborate to improve health access for vulnerable populations.
