[*Note from HIFA moderator (NPW): As we prepare for our Spotlight next week 14-20 September ( www.hifa.org/patientsafety ) I invite all HIFA members with an interest in patient safety and/or NCDs to introduce yourselves by sending email to hifa@hifaforums.org]
Dear HIFA colleagues,
I'm an anaesthesiologist based in Hyderabad, India, and a new HIFA member. Thank you to Dr. Meena Nathan Cherian and Dr. Neil Pakenham Walsh for the warm welcome.
My clinical background is in anaesthesia and perioperative care. Outside the OT, I run medical education platforms for anaesthesia trainees and practising clinicians across India and beyond, and I've recently been focused on how AI tools are being introduced into clinical workflows including where they're helping and where they're creating new patient safety concerns.
I'm looking forward to learning from this community, particularly around patient safety in low and middle-income settings.
Warm regards,
Dr. Degutla Karthik Chary
