Building an online platform to get health answers without discrimination, exclusion and stigma
wellvis.org — is a platform for free, relevant and tailored answers to your health and wellness questions. Wellvis is working towards achieving SDG3
Not everyone has direct access to medical doctors (read; health workers) to talk to when they have nagging health questions, therefore, tweets like the one above have become a common sight on Twitter and other social media platforms.
Sometimes, all a person needs is the reassurance and/or clarification on how best to proceed in seeking healthcare or in making the right health decisions. A lack of this kind of access, coupled with ignorance and poverty can be found at the root of most illnesses one can imagine, especially in this part of the world.
Wellvis.org is a one-stop internet based product that offers multiple telehealth solutions.
Our first feature is a Q&A platform that aims to improve access to quality health information and to encourage patient’s active engagement using a crowd-sourced model. Answers are provided by the community and will be moderated by health care experts. Questions can also be asked anonymously to protect identity, prevent discrimination and stigma especially for key populations.
