With thanks to Emma Farrow.

The commemorative issue of Health Information and Libraries Journal celebrating Shane Godbolt's life is now freely available online. It contains no fewer than 18 articles, demonstrating the depth and breadth of her commitment to health information in general, and to health information in Africa in particular. Shane was a very active and much loved member of the HIFA Steering Group for many years. She died on 24 November 2019 from pancreatic cancer.

Here are the words of two of the many people whose lives have been enhanced by Shane's work and friendship.

'Shane was a reliable and dependable friend, she made great impact in the area of health sciences librarianship not only in her country but also in Africa. She will continue to be remembered by many who had contact with her and those who benefited from her works as well as generations yet unborn. She will be sorely missed.' (Grace Ajuwon).

'Shane the professional and passionate health librarian

May her memory live on in all that she impacted and all projects that she participated and visualised. Rest in eternal peace dear Shane.' (Nasra Gathoni).
