Global Health Mentoring - event on World Health Day - 7th of April at 10:00 am EST

5 April, 2021

Dear HIFA community,

I am delighted to invite you as a host to our event on the World Health Day supported by our HIFA. More info can be found at Silk Daoshi [] or you may fill in the registration for the webinar directly at

Throughout this year of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have witnessed health and care professionals selflessly put themselves on the frontlines in order to save and improve lives. In recognition of their vital role and in celebration of World Health Day, this event will focus on global health mentoring.

We are thrilled to have Liz Grant, MA, PhD FRSE, Assistant Principal and Director of the Global Health Academy at the University of Edinburgh [] as our guest speaker and Eric B. Scheider, PhD, Associate Professor of Surgery at Yale University and Director of the Center for Health Services and Outcomes Research in the Department of Surgery. []

Particularly, we will explore the necessary skills in the global health environment, the role of global public health mentoring as an agent of development, and the importance of emphasizing a global perspective in healthcare.

Thanks to our supporters of this event, United Nations Association of Greater Boston, HIFA, Northeastern University Office of Alumni Relations, and Northeastern University College of Professional Studies MS in Global Studies and International Relations Program.

We look forward to learning from many of you joining the conversation. It is a privilege to be able to organize global health storytelling series in the coming months as part of our initiative and try to assist in some way during this pandemic while many people are struggling with big challenges saving lives and fighting for their health too.
