Why Are People So Angry At Ebola Responders In The Democratic Republic Of The Congo? (3)

1 November, 2018

Considering the history and devastation caused by EBOLA in DR Congo, I read this posting from Neil and wondered how it can be that any body in DR Congo or even the new inhabitants / visitors could not have received the information and facts about Ebola. I read that '------ Partly it's because many people in the communities where Ebola is now spreading had never heard of it - so they're resistant to giving up their loved ones to strangers in scary plastic suits.-'

How can that be even a part of the reasons for the public to attack health workers doing good work in the interest of the same public.

Where is the failure to inform and educate the public about Ebola?

HIFA has a powerful message about its reason for existence, 'Let's build a future where people are no longer dying for lack of healthcare information' and has actively promoted it, and rightly so. Is it time to also say, 'Let's build a future where people no longer attack health workers who are working for their interest'.
