If you will be attending the 2018 IAS AIDS Conference in Amsterdam, do come around to attend a Global Village Session organized by the Amsterdam Youth Force titled “Breaking barriers, innovatively getting the word across” on Wednesday 25 July by 13:00 - 14:30 at the GV Session Room 2.
The objectives of this workshop are to present and share existing innovative messages and models for HIV prevention message design and programming through media, technology and arts. It will also create a space to develop innovative youth-led solutions to nascent challenges, with HIV prevention messages and programming targeting adolescents and youth. The workshop will facilitate discussion and meaningful youth engagement in HIV prevention, programming and message design. Further, this workshop will provide a platform to share and exchange experiences in HIV prevention, programming and youth engagement through media, arts and technology.
Our speakers are:
1) Dr. James Lees of the University of Western Cape (UWC) in South Africa has been using the MTV Shuga within teacher education modules and courses held for local communities.
2) Polina Pomosova is from Russia and involved with Dance4Life. Dance4Life empowers youth through dance to make healthy sexual choices and lead healthy relationships.
3) Annegien Wilms works with the Pharmaccess Foundation in the Netherlands, she is in an expert in designing and introducing behaviour change concepts. She has over 12 years of experience in introducing and evaluating digital concepts in the health sector in different African countries.
